Remember that we are old? Today was a good day to make soup and read all day... so that is what I did! Any way have a happy new Year and drive carefully tonight!

Hubert

I just adopted Hubert. He is cute and if you click on the "more" you can feed him... but don't over feed him!

Our Casino Story

Larry surprised me by telling me to call and see if we could get a room at Grand Casino MilleLac. We got a room and went up on Wednesday. We took a nap... cuz we are old and that is what old people do! We are serious players! We had our player club cards and everything! We went down to the Casino and went to our favorite machines... Larry introduced me to the underground money which is like "whack" a mole sort of. I won some money there and went over to some other machines ... I ended up not winning any money and losing!Larry won some. We decided to go eat and then played some other machines. I played one with a community bonus... that was fun... Then we went up to the room, read and did crossword puzzles... remember we are old.
It is nice to go to the casino where we are some of the younger old people around! In the morning I wasn't going to play but then I got lured in... I played the underground game and then I played you bet your life. i won money there. Then we discovered the Deal or no deal game.... WOW I won 56 dollars after putting in 30... and Larry won on that machine too... I want to play that one again! I like going to casinos! It was fun!
I like Larry too. We have fun when we go places together! That is all that i know! Later...

Merry Christmas

This was one of the nicest Christmas' ever.. On Christmas eve we went to Jeff and Kirstin's house with Great Grandma, Jed,Larry, and Ron and Judy Larsen. It was a fun day and we stayed longer than we thought. The boys opened their presents (with a little help) and kept us entertained. The food was great and we grazed all day. Thanks Kirstin and Jeff... here is a picture of the boys
Christmas day was at our house. Nora was the only baby so she got all the attention... we love Matt, Amy Jed Katie and Joe... but really who can resist Nora. Helen and Pat and Cody were here too. So was great Grandma... It was a very nice christmas and I got some great presents... I love having grandbabies and all of my kids!
AND as if that wasn't enough I don't have to go to work this week!!
I have been working on putting new pictures on the website
Go see all the cute pictures of the babies! Here is one of Nora on Christmas day...

Almost done

Today is the second to last day that we have to be in school... The kids are excited and so are the adults... Larry and I finished our shopping and some of our wrapping... well actually Larry did some wrapping. I did the gifts for people at work.
Joe and Katie leave today for Mankato... it is not nice on the roads... so I hope they drive carefully!
Joe left his jeep at our house for the holiday's. I gave him a ride home and got to see Nora who was a perfect little angel...she didn't cry once while I was there... justplayed and ate and burped. She has that reserved look like she knows something you don't...quite cute.
I got to see the boys for a little on Sunday. They were tired and need to sleep... Nana played with them and made them crabbier... the Nana went home and let Jeff and Kirstin get them to sleep...
Amy is supposed to bring me cookies... we will see... I like her chocolate chip cookies...
Tonight I am not going to do anything but read... maybe I will wrap a few presents but I don't know...
That is about all the news that I know... Have a Merry Christmas if I don't write before this... and watch for pictures on the website of Christmas... www.smenteks.com

Thursday again

I can't believe that it is almost Christmas. I haven't got any shopping done... no homemade little gifts for people... it doesn't even feel like Christmas because of the weather. Where is the snow!
I don't know what to get people... I am not even sure who I want to get gifts for! I can't wait to shop for the babies tho... that will be fun! I do have some ideas for some people. Larry will have to wait til after Christmas for his gift... I am making him buy his own!
We baby sat or visited Nora and Joe the other day. I got to hol Nora and put her to sleep. I really feel like I bonded with her now... she has the sweetest smile. I love her... joe is right... she is great!
I know this isn't much but I am going to bed. i am old!

Sunday night...

On Saturday Jed, Larry and I went down to Mankato. Larry and I dragged Jed on a trip down memory lane. He got to see where Larry and i met and some of the places we went in Mankato back when we were his age. 408 North Broad street... ages ago!
We met up with Jeff. Kirstin and the boys at the hotel we stayed in. We waited for Joe to call and met him at Stadium pizza. Larry was happy to see that nothing has changed there since he was a regular customer back in the 70's. We had great pizza and then we headed back to the hotel where Kirstin and Jeff put the boys to bed and I fell asleep by 9:00. Jed went out with some of his friends from Mankato.
Nora's baptism was on Sunday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato. She was a perfect angel! The boys were good in church too but then no one was pouring water or rubbing oil on their heads! After church we went to Donohoes for Schwarmas and Cake. It was a very nice family kind of day. Lots of babies to hold and play with.
Here is one of the pictures of Nora, Mommy and Daddy.

Now we are home and Larry just left for work. Tomorrow I have to go back to work... yuck! I wish that I could just stay home and babysit for the grand babies! Here is a picture of the cousins... aren't they adorable?
Well I am going to bed... sleep tight!

Its Friday!

I am glad that it is Friday. I am going to listen to Jed play in his first performance at St. Thomas. Also I get to get music from Marissa! I listened to Regina Spektor the other night and I liked her voice. She sounds like a Nora Jones but in an alternative way.
I am going through Baby withdrawal... Haven't seen Nora for over a week and haven't seen the boys for almost a week! Thanks giving will be great! Forget the turkey... give me a baby! Amy and Matt are having Thanksgiving at their house this year for both families. It will be fun I am sure! Any time I don't have to cook is good... even tho I will go help her do the turkey and be there for advice.
I have to get some new baby pictures on the web. I have some great ones that Ron Larsen took. here is one of my favorites. Can anyone think of a good caption? It is one of those pictures that you could think of a lot of things to use!
Aren't they great? and just for equal time here is one of the little princess..
Doesn't she just look like she is going to be a dainty little girl... All pink and feminine? Check out the elegant pinkie!! I bet she will be a little tomboy!

Not much else new ...Have a great weekend!

Good Morning

It is Thursday! I don't know how weeks can go by fast but days seem to drag...I do know that the older I get the faster time goes!
There really isn't much to write about... so I will make another list!

10 Places That I want to visit in the USA
  1. Glacier National Park... Banff Canada and Glacier are supposed to be beautiful
  2. Maine Coast Loved it the first time and I want to see the rest of the coast.
  3. Oregon & Washington...Never been there . I would like to see the West coast
  4. Las Vegas... Went there when I was 10... wasn't impressed but maybe it will be different 46 years later! I don't want to stay in a hotel with roaches tho...
  5. Washington DC... Might be fun for one time
  6. The Kentucky Derby, Kentucky, and Tennessee... Life long dream... probably isn't what I have built it up to be but I do want to see that whole area
  7. Arizona. I loved seeing Phoenix and Sedona and want to go back
  8. North and South Carolina... again it is supposed to be beautiful
  9. The Ozarks I did not say Branson but I want to see the area...
  10. Texas, Oklahoma, Haven't been there want to see the coast...
I could probably name more I think I just love to travel and like driving so you can see everything. Actually I just have to ride... but I would drive if Larry let me!

Now I have to go to work. If anyone wants to come shelve books come join me!
Have a nice day...

Saturday night Roundup...

Okay I know that it has been a while... I have been busy! I went to a craft fair at Canterbury Downs. It is huge and fun... Lots of great ideas and free samples. Some things were easy to make and expensive... I can probably do lots of the things that I saw... except I don't. It did make me want to crochet more tho.
We got to see Nora (Joe and Katie too) on Thursday. That was fun. Nora is getting used to being held by us. We got lots of smiles...Joe is right... She is great! Here is what she looked like on Thurdsay...

The other day I bought lots of graphics for the web... They are kind of country... cutesy like this...I love them... I put some new ones on the website...check it out!

Today Amy and I had a mini spa day... I now have brown hair again. I can still see my thin spot but the rest of my hair looks good... thanks Abby. Abby is the best! She is at the Coles Salon off of Cliff rd.
Then we went and got our nails done at a new salon that was over by Amy's too. They were really good too. Pedicures are great! Very relaxing! Then i came home and took a nap! What a great day! Tonight I worked on the web site.
Tomorrow we are going to see the boys. I can't wait.. they are really great too!

We have decided to not get rid of the dogs at this point. If the boys come over and the dogs bother them... breathing wise, then we will have to get rid of them.. As far as the dogs are concerned when they see Nora they don't really care. They do like some of her toys tho!

That is all that I know right now... things are the same as usual around here! Low key and boring!

Then Joe and Katie got to Jeff and Kirstin's house where Joe put Nora in the car and we left to go to Pam's house for a Stamp Camp. We had fun there. We made cards. I got to hold Nora for quite a while.I was quite proud of myself because I actually finished my cards! We got back to Jeff's house and visited. I got to hold the boys! I also got to hold Nora again. Larry and I got to babysit the boys while Jeff and Kirstin checked out the Penney's sale. (I am not sure I spelled that right). This was a great day!

Halloween was not spooky!

This week has gone by pretty fast!Tuesday night we went to Jeff and Kirstin's for Halloween. That was a blast... Joe, Katie and Nora, Matt Amy, Tana, Braden, Joseph, Loralei, Gretchen, Ron and Judy were all there! With the four babies and all the people it was quite a rowdy party! The babies are all so sweet.. Liam peed on me and Jeff and Joe enjoyed that... I held Nora for quite a while. I also held Logan. I want to hold Nora more!
On a different note. I just bought a bunch of graphics to use... I love graphics they are so cutsey! I can use them as stickers!!!

Sunday nite roundup...

Well, I have made my lunch for tomorrow, eaten supper, avoided watching the debates on TV, talked to Amy, separated the damn dogs from killing each other... actually Amy and I tried to keep Kui from killing Chewie. I am sick of the fighting... I am ready to surrender one of them...
Last night we ( Larry and I ) got to baby sit the boys. I forgot that big rush of love that you feel when you hold a special baby! Earlier in the day we got to hold Nora for a while... She is so pretty... she is all pink and soft... I agree with Joe... she is great! That was a wonderful surprise since I didn't know they were coming over... then later we went to take care of the boys. They are also sweet but in a boy way... they are starting to get all cuddly and smiley and Logan blows spit bubbles. All three of them can smile now... it is so cute! They are all also "talking". I can't take enough pictures of them all! I can't wait till Halloween to see them all!!!!

Being sick is not fun!

I was sick with the same bug that Kirstin had. It was not fun. I got to sleep all day tho so I had a chance to rest with out having to worry about the babies like she did! I did have to miss out on seeing Nora and Joe and Katie...that was even worse!
The last two times that i have been gone I didn't have a sub.. so I came back to piles of books to be shelved..that is not fun either...
Maybe i should have made a list of things that are not fun! Maybe I will do that some other time...

Today's list

Today's list is about why I don't like politics...
  1. No one tells the truth. The straight truth... yes or no... is usually bent to fit what ever side of the issue you want to support.
  2. The term honest politician is an oxymoron.
  3. People often argue about politics with out the actual life experience to know what they are talking about... It is easy to talk about why we shouldn't help feed people when you aren't hungry!
  4. Where is the middle of the road and why should we all have to choose to drive on the far shoulder... be it right or left?
  5. Why can't we stay at home and fix what is wrong in this country... I know that it is a global problem but
  6. If it is true that it is a global problem and we need to stick our nose in everywhere else... why don't we mow our neighbors yard or feed his cats?
  7. Politicians often talk about the other person.. they obviously don't have many good things to say about themselves.
  8. Children are mean... maybe they learn from politicians
  9. EVERYONE has a personal agenda... that is why they are called personal agendas! It's all about me and my way
  10. Why isn't there some one who is watching out for the middle class? They say they are but what incentive is there to lower tax rates for the middle when they are all rich? is there a poor politician?

Welcome to my new blog

I started a blog the other day. But I switched to beta and it took quite a while! I can't remember what i said but I am sure that it was thrilling! Actually I have this habit of making lists. I find myself doing lists in my head before I fall asleep and they are so fascinating that i decided to share them:)

Today's list is a list of lists that I am going to make eventually!

5.A list of things I have been blessed with

6.A list of things I like about being a mom
