Still no snow...

Well the snow never started yet... I am not going to hold my breath. Joe blogged again and there are a couple of cute snowbunny pictures. Check them out!

More snow?

I don't know whether to believe the weather reports or not but a snow day would be nice!
I just heard that eating ice cream is good for fertility....who knew? Ice cream sales are going to go up so maybe that is the stock to buy!
Last night we got to help put the boys to bed... eating, baths and then sleeping... so fun! There is nothing better than the smell of a freshly bathed baby... soft and cuddly! I forgot to take my camera but check out the cute pictures on Jeff's blog.

Snowy Weekend

Well here it is Monday again...I had a good weekend... I had a lot of fun at Joe and Katie's playing with Nora. She was in a great mood... lots of smiles and even giggles!

I didn't get to see the boys this weekend...the roads were pretty bad so I didn't want to risk Joey's car. Otherwise i would have called Jeff and Kirstin and bothered them... or babysat for them... that way while Dad was seeing Nora for the second time because of the Hockey game, I would have been seeing the boys.... However I stayed home and put a few new pictures on the website. I also put new backgrounds for March.
Next week end we are going to be busy. There is the Stamp camp at Pam's on Friday... then Saturday I imagine that we will be shopping for a new vehicle... our Van is dying. We have fixed the head gasket, added some part that might have fixed it ( but didn't) and now waiting to see if maybe they resurrect it.. Larry is hopeful but I am ready to pull the plug. The van has had a long and useful life (it is a '92) Even tho the inside is still like new, the engine is just worn out! It barely has 100,000 miles on it. So stay tuned for the vehicle news.

Morning ramblings

I have to go to work today... which means that everyone else is back to work too... Joe and Amy need to blog more... Jed and Jeff... yeah.. come on share with us... I like hearing about my kids lives... I might have to start calling every night just to hear the news... and don't even tell me that you won't answer! Then I will have to drive over... and visit... for a long boring time.... wouldn't it be easier to just blog?
Okay I am done with the lecture...
There are some good things about going to work this week. For instance... There is no day 4. Most of you know about the dreaded day 4. Mrs. Smentek gets very crabby because we have back to back checkouts. I am finding that Day 5 is almost worse since I have a bajillion books to put away...
Things at work will be getting interesting... the teachers are applying for Jobs for next year. it is this whole involved process...The rest of this year should be ... ummm... I can't even think of the word for it...maybe bittersweet, sad, infuriating, confusing, well you get the drift! For those of you who don't know what I am talking about The school that I work at is closing after 41 years...Imagine cleaning out a house.. yeah, now imagine a 30 room house with many storage areas... well it is time to get ready for work... see ya

Advances in Childrens Pictures and Other Stuff

This has been a fun weekend... Saturday we got to see Joe...he was in the city to judge a mock trial. He stopped by to take a TV and eat lunch and chat... not necessarily in that order! Then we went to Jeff and Kirstin's to baby sit the boys. The had not seen us in two weeks so there was a little stranger anxiety for a while. Auntie Amy came to visit too... We visited and played for a while and then Jeff and Kirstin left. Liam cried so Auntie Amy put Jammie's on while I made bottles. I fed Liam and got him to fall asleep... and put him in bed. Grandpa put Jammie's on Logan. Grandpa fed Logan and thought that he was asleep... and he was - for about 30 minutes. He woke up and decided that he was not going to fall asleep.. he did want to be held and I was happy to oblige...
Today I went to the Mall with Jeff and Kirstin and the boys to have pictures taken... This was the third try and it went very well. They were very cute... I of course got barfed on by Logan but I also got a hug from both boys... The advances in kids photography was the use of a computer so that from sitting to finished photos it is only 2 hours instead of the two weeks or more that it took... I found a job that I would really like...developing and printing the pictures at the photo place...unfortunately I would have to take pictures of kids too... I love kids but getting strange kids to smile would be hard! I mean my "Where's Nana's smile?" probably won't work!!That is it for this week end except that i don't have to work tomorrow! Yea! It would have been a perfect weekend but i didn't get to see Nora (or Katie and Matt either)... here is Nora
Next week end I get to see Nora and maybe even Jed... and I want to see the boys too... two weeks is too long! good night!

Casino Story

Well we are home and here is our casino story... We arrived around noon, checked in to our room and took a nap...(remember we were practicing being old...)After our nap we went down stairs and started playing. First we tried the Deal or no Deal machines...they are evil, evil machines... well they were for me...of course everything I played was on a losing streak or rather I was. I decided that I was wearing the wrong clothes... Larry must have been wearing his lucky something... he did great! We ate supper and went back to watch TV...Two and a Half Men was on...
Tuesday Morning...We went down to try again. This time I was very lucky... then we went to the room, changed out of our smokey clothes and went to Aitkin to eat at the Riverside cafe. When we got back we took our daily nap. We decided that we should go back downstairs and this time we mostly donated our money... Being sad over losing money we went to the buffet... (where we ate so much that we both were still full this morning... ) After the buffet we went back to the room and watched TV and Larry did the cross word...
This morning,ever optimistic, we went down to play a few more slots. We donated some more money and then we went upstairs, changed the smokey clothes and hit the road...
All in all we have no exciting story to tell. No big wins, but we did have fun!

New Baby...

When I was watching the news tonight I heard an item about a mom in labor who was stuck in the traffic accident the other day. The one with the two semi's. I looked to see if I knew who it was... (ask my kids I know everyone!) Any way It turns out that it was someone that i know... Nicole... in the article she is called by her real name... ThaoTrihn. She used to own the nail salon and she was our neighbor. Her parents still live there. The baby was a little girl and her name is Tiffany. Here is a link to the story... I must behave either scared Nora or I am great at putting kids to bed... I put her down with just a little fussing and she slept through till 7:30 in the morning... Way to go Nora! She also likes my singing...poor child! But i love her!
I didn't see the boys this week end. I could have but I figured that jeff and Kirstin and the boys needed a day to not have anyone over. I feel guilty going over there all the time BUT I love seeing the boys... So next weekend for sure!

What is up with parents?

I can't believe anyone who loves there kid could go in and gamble while the kid waits in the car...what a jerk! Then there is the other parent who was going on vacation and NEEDED a tan...you would think that she could afford a sitter...maybe she won't have to worry about it now since she should be in jail where her tan will look nice with the orange jumpsuits! How stupid!!
I have noticed that my children aren't blogging as much... I have nothing to read! So if you have a good blog that i can read let me know.... They are like free little novels about real life... I need more blogs to read!
Tonight I get to babysit for Nora. Yay! Tomorrow is Katie's birthday... Happy birthday Katie! I think that she is going to be 29...right?

Not much else is new... we are going to go to the casino on Monday... maybe this is my trip to make a "GrandCasino story" Mine will probably be some thing like I was playing the slot and tipped the machine over... but It will be fun to get away...this is the first time I have gotten to use my personal days in a long time...usually i have to use sick days...
Jed is recovering from his illness finally... now he has to catch up with his work!

Taxes

I did my taxes last night and this afternoon! I am done with our tax returns-both Federal and state! Yay! I am also done doing Jed's except that he has to mail the state one. AND best of all I finished the FAFSA! I did our taxes on line at Turbotax and I did Jed's for free because he makes less than 30,000.
I am glad that is done!
I took Larry for his little procedure today... He is fine and if you ask him he can tell you all about it. All I had to do was go with him and then drive him home.
Now I am going to sit in the soft chair and finish reading my book and then go to bed early! all that tax stuff makes my head hurt!

Why is the most exciting thing about the astronaut the fact that she wore a diaper... She was going to kidnap and possibly hurt another woman but the first thing they say is she was wearing a diaper... weird!

A glimpse of spring

I was digging through pictures the other day and I found some of these old pictures of flowers. It reminded me that it won't be cold forever... I plan to do a page on the website but here is a taste of it for you!

It was so cold today that I wore a hat! I never wear hats!
I need it to get warm again! even 20 would seem like a heat wave!!!

Baby Time!

Saturday morning Amy and I went to get our nails done and eat lunch. It was so cold the car didn't warm up until I got to her house! It was fun seeing her. She is so busy that we don't spend as much time together but when we get together it is fun!

We got to spend time with the babies this weekend! We saw Nora on Saturday night. Joe, Katie and Nora were on the way to the apartment from Mankato. Nora is a doll! She loves to eat. Here is Nora eating carrots...

This afternoon we got to babysit for the boys. They are getting so big. Liam has two teeth on the bottom and two just poking through on the top. Be careful when you stick your finger in his mouth!
Logan is still toothless like Nora. He was busy playing with his toys and watching Papa. He is still mellow but his feisty side is starting to come out!
The boys like to sit on the floor and play with their toys...

Frozen Friday

The temp today is -14... pretty cold! I was watching my morning TV show and "they" said that the ground hog didn't see his shadow... but it is hard to believe that it won't be a long winter when it is this cold outside!The reason that I have """"" around the word they is that I hate that phrase! If you can't state your source it is NOT fact!!! In this case the "they" refers to the people in Gobbler's knob Penn. I watched as the proclamation was read!


I forgot how crazy little girls can be... the phrases "You're just using me" and "she's not your friend she is mine" can be heard in the hallway along with the crushed lives of little girls...until 5 minutes later when someone else gets used or "de-friended"! No wonder learning is hard work... there is all this other more important stuff going on! Too bad they can't see that it is ten minutes of your life and it probably won't be the worst thing ever!

My cd with the new graphics came... yay! now I can play with them! for instance...here is a little bird... isn't she cute?
I like the hedge hogs too tho... they are soo cute!!

Thursday Morning...

I really don't want to go out side now... It is about 6:30am and the temp here is 1 below...It is of course a regular heat wave compared to Mankato where joe and Katie are...it is 16 BELOW there... brrrr. I hope the heater in the Saturn works good Joe!
By the way before you ask the Jeep is fine... There was a little confusion the first day when i tried to get the key out.. who knew there was a button for that? Yesterday I forgot to step on the clutch... ya know what happens then? nothing... absolutely nothing...scared me! So after all that I do like driving it!
The van is going to go in on Friday to figue out what the problem really is...turns out there is a chance that it won't cost 1500 but maybe only 5oo... I'd give you the technical details but I kind a glazed over when larry started talking about it...some thing about intake valve i think... anyway... maybe we can save it! When we start talking about getting a new car or truck it sounds like fun but then we start thinking about camping... hauling all the stuff, sleeping on the air mattress...sleeping out side in a tent and in the rain and the van seems like a luxury!
