Dangerous daytripping...

This past week end we didn't make a reservation to camp but we wanted to finish the State Park Passport that Amy and Jed started when they were younger. I made a list of the parks that we still needed and early Saturday morning we started out. Our first stop was at Keyes in Woobury for breakfast and then because we were already over that way we headed for Hudson... for some reason Larry started calling this a dangerous day trip... maybe because of the way he thought that he was going to drive but the name stuck... so off we went. We stopped in Hudson at the Wisconsin Travel information.... then we headed down the Wisconsin side of the St. Croix and the Mississippi... We stopped in Prescott for Dad to go check out the over look... here is what I saw from the car...

We crossed over the river at Red Wing and headed toward the parks along Highway 61... our first stop was Frontenac... it was pretty as usual.... Next we headed farther down 61...we needed John Latsch...Don't bother to stop there... it is a glorified rest stop... then we went to Great River Bluffs park. It used to be called O.L. Kipp and it was very pretty...Here is Larry after stamping the book... We thought that it would be fun to camp there...This is what it looked like in the fog....

We also got stamps from Lake Louise, Whitewater, and Carley ...
We stayed in Rochester and had a nice dinner at Timber Lodge... It was a fun weekend... too bad we had to come back!

When we got home Nora called and told us all about the weekend in Duluth... Joe should blog about that! I also heard the the dudes and Zoey went to the zoo... Jeff and Amy should blog about that too!
